Age 50 – 60

Character Profile

Brehon Lugh is a charismatic man in his mid-50s, the jovial landlord of the local inn with a booming laugh and a thick Highlands accent. At first, he appears warm, witty, and full of local charm – quick with a joke and eager to play host. But beneath his cheerful exterior lies a history he’s reluctant to share. A former detective with direct ties to the original murder case, Brehon is not as forthcoming as he seems. His charisma masks deflection, and as the truth begins to surface, his complicity becomes harder to ignore.

Dag

Gender Male

Age 70 – 80

Character Profile

Dag is a frail, reclusive man in his late 70s to early 80s, living above the inn on the mainland. Once the island’s caretaker, he was the first to discover the bodies of the murdered sisters twenty years ago, a trauma that left him mute and withdrawn. Though dismissed by locals as senile or harmless, Dag’s presence is unnerving. As the mystery unravels, his role proves more significant than first believed, with knowledge that may hold the key to exposing long-buried truths.

Please note: The role has minimal dialogue – it’s mainly the physical portrayal of a man who is gravely ill and nearing the end of his life – laboured breathing, a distant gaze, and few strained words.

Scottish accent, preferably regional Highlands or Isle of Skye.
